EAP Summit Overview

Since its maiden edition in 2020, the EAP Africa Summit has served as a Pan-African platform for advancing dialogue on employee mental health, corporate wellness, and the strategic role of Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) in organizational performance. Born during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Summit provided timely support, knowledge, and collaboration opportunities to help organizations mitigate the immense psychosocial impact of the crisis.

ACE Awards Overview

In 2023, the Summit gave birth to the Authentic Caring Employer (ACE) Awards, a recognition scheme dedicated to celebrating and recognizing organizations and individuals, primarily based in Ghana, who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to fostering positive mental health and overall wellbeing among their employees. This recognition highlights those entities that prioritize mental wellness within their workplace culture and actively contribute to the enhancement of employee wellbeing.

The authenticity of the Employers duty of care is imperative to win the overall ACE Award.

Selected organizations are invited to share submissions detailing impactful initiatives, policies, or practices that support mental health in the workplace.

Integrated Annual Gathering

Starting in May 2026, the EAP Africa Summit and ACE Awards will merge into a single annual event, aligning with Global Mental Health Awareness Month. This consolidated gathering amplifies their shared mission and increases continental impact on workplace mental health.

Promotion of United Nations SDGs

The ACE Awards play an important role in advancing several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Highlights and Features Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), Gender Equality (SDG 5), and Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10).

Collaboration and Learning

The event fosters meaningful dialogue and collaboration among HR leaders, psychologists, corporate executives, policymakers, and wellbeing practitioners. Participants engage in exchanging tools, resources, and proven strategies aimed at cultivating healthier, more resilient work environments.
